It’s May Day and we have the second full moon we’ve had this month which doesn’t happen often. The ruling sign to the moon is Cancer and this full moon is happening in another water sign, Scorpio, so don’t be surprised if you are compelled to go deep wether you want to or not this full moon.

May Day, or International Workers’ Day, has long been marked as a day of protest by the labor movement. In the U.S., it traces back to the fight for an eight-hour workday in the 19th century. In early May 1886, a nationwide strike was organized to demand the limit on working hours. One May 4 demonstration in Chicago’s Haymarket Square turned violent when a bomb detonated and police opened fire in response; the event, later deemed the Haymarket affair, resulted in the deaths of multiple law enforcement officers and civilians and prompted the arrests of several labor activists, four of whom were ultimately executed. — Time
The other thing happening is that Mercury will be conjunct the sign of Chiron. We can expect some communication that either centers the individual doing the communicating in a victim narrative, or comunication that allows us to go deep into our own stories of victimization and wounding from early on, in order to come up with solutions. You pick.
Ufortunately, on a global scale this may coincide with further narratives about the aggressor being the victim like we see as Two nuclear powers (Israel and the US) absolutely pummel non-nuclear entities like Iran, Lebanon, and Palestine. Just to re-cap, in the first year of the second Trump regime, we have bombed: Iran, Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon, Somalia, Qatar (through Israel), and Nigeria for some reason. Maybe it’s because Niki Minaj told us to because of the “persecuted Christians” there. She was rewarded, mind you, by being the first recipient of the Trump Gold Card which is a pathway to citizenship for wealthy immigrants, DEI at its finest right there. I also think we need to remind folks that Palestine doesn’t even have an army of any kind and is an occupied open air prison.
We have also seen secretary of state Marco Rubio talking about how Iran has used the equivalent of a nuclear weapon on the world by closing off the straight of Hormuz and Bab-el-Mandeb. That there is even an audience for this crap anymore speaks to how basura our education system has become in this country. Is it any surprise that the Republican Trump Regime has placed the owner of the WWE, Linda McMaan, as the Secretary of Education? No words, simply no f-ing words at this point.
Pluto in Aquarius, for the next 18yrs or so, also just got an upgrade as Uranus just moved into Gemini on April 25th for the next 7 years or so. What could go wrong, since we also have peak delulu with Neptune and Saturn having met up in the sign of Aries.
Now the signature of Uranus in Gemini is a rough one historically, as it corresponds with both the Revolutionary War and WWII. Those of you who follow astrology will have probably heard this being bandied about by other astrologers. I want to encourage everyone to remember though that we also have a lot of other astrological signatures that are pushing us to evolve as humans, and we don’t have to do it violently as a collective. Even if the energies are pushing leading cultural figures and heads of state to act in this way, we, the global majority, do not have to take the bait.
If you’ve noticed, on a global scale, there is also a lot of activity amongst the rest of us who are getting organized, some of us for the first time. People are finding community focused non-violent solutions to very violent situations. Think, throwing dildo’s at ICE agents. I have also been seeing a lot of folks come to our organizing work who are appearing for the first time, ready to put in work!
Folks like the nuclear engineer, a white man, who spent over five hours at a Board of Supervisors meeting with black and brown youth, members of the Anti Police Terror Project, in which we were trying to prevent Flock surveillance cameras from being used to hunt down disenfranchised communities. He had spent his week, on his own time, on his own dime, coming up with a report to present to the board about how un-secure these technologies were from the perspective of someone who deals with technological safety issues on a daily basis. For those who haven’t made the connection, Flock is a Palantir technology and if it hasn’t already, it will soon be coming to a city/town near you.
Another community member who had a thick southern accent and could have easily said they voted for Trump three times and no one would have batted an eye, got up to side with the community. She detailed how she had seen men in full military fatigues erecting the cameras in her neighborhood, and that the footage obtained by these cameras had already been used to stalk a woman in the community. The sherrif’s department attempted to assure everyone of the safety of the technology while we kept coming up with stories to refute all their claims.
It’s important to realize that there are folks on our citizen boards who may seem like they have our interests at heart in terms of optics, but Supervisor Nate Miley, a black man, stated “I don’t judge people who have had slaves or those who interned Japanese Americans at the time”. He said this in response to discussing the opening of a new ICE detention center in Dublin, and also said that he supported surveillance technologies. As Cat Brooks of the Anti-Police Terror Project tells us:

We need to remember that Flock has a huge profit motive when it comes to our data and they are looking for a return on investment. Seventy municipalities canceled their Flock contracts and many of them canceled the contracts and Flock simply refused to leave. They say this tech is safe, but we all know, that once this cat is out of the bag, there’s no putting it back.
Here is the full transcript of what I said at the hearing from a healthcare perspective. As a result of the disrespectful minute limit they gave all of us to speak, I was able to get a small piece of it into the record.
It’s nice to know that drone first responders are replacing human first responders (obvious sarcasm). The reason the sherif’s department is so confident in these Flock technologies is because it’s been tested by killing, maiming, and tormenting over 680,000 Palestinians in it’s most recent iteration. This is Israeli tech with US funding and it is now coming home to roost. You can read The Palestine Laboratory by Antony Lowenstein for more information on that. I find it curious that we are able to support higher militarization of our police departments while we are simultaneously cutting funding for safety-net hospitals and high level trauma centers. I have been called on my days off because people don’t know what to do about people surveiled by these systems which include a young woman who was “scheduled for deportation after the delivery of her child.” Anyone supporting these technologies can go Flock themselves.
The pro-Flock group consisted of a political group of business owners one of whom got on the mic to tell us that, now that their three properties have Flock cameras, there have been less breakins. There was also the proverbial, we stopped the kidnapping of X child because of these technologies. What about all the children who were trafficked through the Oakland Police Department that no one cares about? I’m sorry, but a group of individuals known to comitt crimes with impunity aka sherrifs departments in major cities, having these technologies does not make me feel safer, not even a little bit.
The take away here is that after the meeting we all immediately made more connections and strategized to continue the work. If there is anything to glean from the once in several lifetimes planetary shifts that are occurring, it’s that no one is going to get away with not doing the work in some way. That, once we tap in at any level, we will be rewarded, we will find our people, the dhama/darma will flow. We got us!!

The CEO has decided to cut our jobs and not look for other funding sources in the form of: getting out of an expensive off property lease for their offices, and refusing to cut bonuses for their staff some of which totaled $200,000.00 on top of their already $800,000.00 a year CEO salary for having done a shitty job. The union and rank and file members as well as doctors on the medical executive team have proposed many solutions, none of which the administration has listened to. Instead, they have chosen to stop firing us in response to our constant protesting and crashing their meetings, but only temporarily by pushing the firing dates further down the road. The next time they want to attempt firing will be in June so we will be protesting outside their fancy offices on the 5th of May. We will be doing it joyously with music and tacos! AI is being shoved down our throats because the tech bros, subsidized by our government, didn’t get the return on investment they were looking for. You can thank Pluto in Aquarius for that. However, like I always say, this is not an excuse to not engage, it is an opportunity to use the energy to do the work!
The amount of well meaning people saying “It’s like the internet, there’s no stopping it now” when refering to AI, is insane. The difference is that with the internet, people were clambering over themselves to get it and use it. With AI it’s usually people being forced to use it to keep up with productivity, ameliorate their loneliness, surveil citizens, suck up data to sell people more shit they don’t need, or live out some sadistic fantasy. I heard a writer recenlty say that they would never use AI to write, because it is a skill they never want to loose. They were referencing a study in which doctors were using AI for certain skills, and when they stopped using it they never regained the skill set. Anyone who uses a map application to get to their local grocery store knows how easy it is to loose our skills to technology in general, how bout we don’t put that into hyper drive hm? I encourage all of us consider the things we do that we don’t want to loose the ability to do and make a personal pact to never outsource those things to AI.
I also have a physician friend who got rid of all their social media immediately when he realized he went down a rabbit hole on an AI video that he thought was real for the whole day. What are you doing to build boundaries in your day to day against the tech overlords? It’s not hopeless. They want us to feel like it is but it’s not. That’s why they are scared and trying to force these things on us. Don’t forget that!
