New Moon in Cancer is a Mixed Bag: Flock Takes An “L”, More ICE Deaths, and The Senator We Weren’t Expecting Dies
Now although I firmly believe that a moon in its home sign of Cancer is generally a warm and fuzzy place, This new moon in Cancer has some sticky spots. Are we surprised though? This has already been a year of unprecedented astrological signatures including all of the outer, generational, planets changing signs, the Pluto return of the United States, and Neptune and Saturn meeting up in the sign of Aries for the first time, maybe ever in human existence! Check my other “Afro-Astro-Horror-Scopes” for more on that.
Sure, we had a Mercury cazimi, which is when the sun and Mercury meet up in the sky, but that Mercury is currently retrograde until the beginning of August, so any warm fuzzy feelings you had may have been lost in translation. Also, Venus moved into the sign of Virgo where it is in its fall. It also just squared Uranus in Gemini on the 13th.

I would be remissed if I didn’t mention that under Mark Wayne Mullen’s leadership of ICE, the only thing that has changed is that we aren’t hearing about what is happening as much. Kristi Noem’s grandiosity and narcissism made it so that we often knew when ICE went on a rampage.
Venus squared Uranus in Gemini this week and appears to have led to an uptick in the activities of our home grown death squads. However, I am actully curious as to wether or not Bukele, the leader of El Salvador, isn’t providing us with some thugs to beef up DHS since he and Trump have openly discussed intertwining our carceral systems.
Under new leadership, the Department of Homeland Security realized that people weren’t into the live streaming of government militias killing people in the streets and grand standing, so they shifted course. Now Markwayne Mullen, who is apparently the first Native American in homeland security, has been okaying the extrajudicial killings of people in the streets on an almost daily basis. They recently killed a 26yr old asylum seeker, and father in Maine and handcuffed him after. He had a social security number and authorization to work here. Before that they killed a father who had a construction business, and lived here for over 30yrs. Not to mention that ICE has stated previously that they will not be reporting deaths inside their concentration camps. Every day it seems that someone is dying at the hands of a federal agent, and although people are in the streets, somehow, many people don’t know how dire the situation is currently.
Oddly, the South Carolina senator Lindsay Grahm who has been a staunch supporter of all our unnecessary wars abroad including Iran, ICE at home, the genocide in Gaza, and Israel, died on the same day as the Mercury Cazimi which is going to leave Republicans scrambling for a replacement. I hesitate to call anyone’s death “good news” but I personally think death can’t be that bad because all of us have to do it. In this case however, Grahm being gone means that there may be a glimmer of hope for some folks still living. Some uncontested good news however is that the Los Angeles Sherif’s department has decided to let their Flock contract expire as a result of public outcry against surveilance and use by Immigration and Customs Enforcement to target humans. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh, Lindsay Grahm, away. Mbyeeeeee
The Moon in it’s home sign of Cancer clearly softened some of the blows for us, but there was still a lot of emotion and difficulty this week and it’s only Tuesday!
If you are an artist and feeling like you need to tone down your message I want you to read this article I wrote about the National Security Presidential Memorandum 7 and how it affects us. It may give you some inspiration so stay the course. I am right there with you all and am doubling down by working on even more political music as of late. Stay tuned!
