Full Moon in Aries Asks Us if We Want to Wake Up Again or Stay Asleep Forever This Time

So since we last met and right before the Virgo new moon on the 10th of September, Anthropic announced that it was building new predictive surveillance systems to monitor activists. We have to remind ourselves that we have about 17–18 more years of Pluto in Aquarius so moments of existential dread coming up around technology is something we are going to have get accustomed to. The thing to remember is that, getting accustomed to them does not mean becoming complacent. The work will be to use these moments to try and shape less reactionary future that can live side by side with technological advances that do not push us towards annihilation. We also have to understand that these tech billionaires got rich off government subsidies of our tax dollars and the government and these companies are both looking for a return on investments.

People are often motivated by fear and Pluto is a great energy to stoke people’s fears. The people that run these companies have figured out that if they act like their technology is above the law and that the only way to keep us safe is to let them keep working on this tech before someone else advances it, is a sure fire way to keep us all investing. So new technologies offered to authoritarian governments to keep their citizens in check seems like a win win for the oligarchs.

Now before you freak out and scratch your name off the next No Kings protest, first let me tell you that No Kings gets police clearance for their protests so, trust me, you’ll be fine. Any protest that gets police clearance isn’t doing too much to subvert the State. Second, we need all hands on deck for much more than performative protest at this point, though No Kings is a good entry point for folks not previously engaged in protest movements. Third, if you think you don’t have to worry as long as you keep your head down, let me remind you that the ruling class continues to move the goal post for what is considered a crime, closer and closer to the lived experience of most working class people, so that we will eventually all get caught up in the drag net. If you don’t believe me, search the internet for “people who voted for Trump who got detained after his election” or “people who voted for Trump who didn’t think his policies would affect them.”

Ok so lets look at what’s happening in the lead up to this full moon in Aries. Mackelmore got screwed over by his friend of 13 years Ed Sheeran who decided to side with Robert Kraft, a billionaire stadium owner who is prominently featured in the Epstein files. Susan Sarandon and Hannah Einbinder were arrested for protesting Netanyahu’s appearance at the UN in NYC during a Jewish Voices for Peace protest. Susan Surrandon has been on the right side of history for so long, she can no longer get roles in the US even though she is an incredible actress.

Azeez al Shaair linebacker for the Houston Texans also decided to keep his moral compass true North yet again by putting another little girl who was slaughtered by Israel and the US, on his eye black in direct defiance of his NFL overlords. This case in particular gets even better because it shows an exercise of solidarity in that Kairee Irving of the Dallas Maverick’s, offered to pay Azeez’s fine. The next level in organizing here could be multiple players paying portions of the fine. This distributes risk more evenly and protects more people.

So even though Sam Altman wants to jail all activists, which these players would be considered, if we all work on ways to distribute the risk amongst us it protects us all. Think how you would feel living in a world where you could never speak your mind and much of your friends and family were dead or in jail? That is what would happen if we all just keep on keeping our heads down.

I know these things feel scary, but they are the best kind of “good” we can get durring this hellfire and brimstone of an existance we all signed up for and let me tell you why. People are finally starting to not be scared to be “woke”. The fact that people before the 2024 election of Donald Trump felt comfortable deamonizing the term is beyond me. That we lived in a world where people were and in many ways, are still, fighting each other to stay asleep, will be something that I will never fully understand. I know things are objectively bad, however, every day I feel actual real hope as I see people who had not been previously engaged, beginning to stick their necks out for their friends and neigbors. I’m not worried about us.

So what are the star signatures for all this? A few days before this full moon, Mars entered Leo and opposed Pluto two days later. We are at peak leadership. Can you feel the start of something new? A new era of sorts? What leaders are emerging? What leadership qualities are beginning inside of you that may even surprise you? We may all be feeling equal parts existential and corageous as that Mars in Leo opposes Pluto right before the Aries Full Moon. I am hoping that whatever pops off, steers us in the right direction and gives us all deep courage to continue the struggle for a better world.

Beautiful Venus is beginning its underworld journey, retrograde in Scorpio. This is the part of femmininity that is stronger than anything we could imagine. A strength that stems from having no other option but to fight our way out of whatever the fuck this is. To come back from the primordial ooze with a bouquet of orchids for everyone!

Mercury in the relationally pleasing sign of Libra will help us to translate this experience to our most intimate partnerships and spaces. It will help us make the narrative of the ugliness humanity has participated in in the world, something we can learn from. Something we can evolve from as a species.

We will just have to be careful not ot let fantasies of grandiosity keep our heads in the clouds and disconnected from the true movement work at hand as a retrograd Neptune opposes the Sun.

Between the new moon and the full moon we also had airports in the Washington DC area approve the use of AI tools for their air traffick control units. This came after we narrowly avoided a war with China based on faulty AI intel provided to the US military. Seconds before our military was set to board the Chinese ship or bomb it because AI told it that there were parts for an Iranian nuclear program on board, they found out that the info was wrong.

The attorney General of California Rob Bonta caved on a merger with Paramount which would consolidate most of our media under one or two large umbrellas, affectively leading to more mis and disinformation in the space. If you didn’t already know. The same guy and his son who gobbled up this merger, Larry Ellison, not only owns Tik Tok now and has for several months, but are also major funders of the Israeli Defense Forces. Please please please get rid of TikTok. It is not the same as it was. You might not notice as you are lulled to sleep by more and more newest dance craze videos and less and less actual educational information on the atrocities the US is committing globally with the help of Israel. Did you all forget when Netanyahu said that one of the biggest threats to Israel a few months back was TikTok. So he bought it with his buddy and we are still all on it while he’s sitting there like “This is too easy.”

We also have the fall Equinox which happens right before we go back into the introspective dark time of the year around the 23rd of the month. So no matter what we are going through, it’s important to take some time to reflect on this midway point in our seasonal landscape. Time to finish up what we can and let the other stuff fallow.
