Dolores Huerta’s New Moon in Pisces Gives Marginalized Groups a Couple Gulps of Air
Have you all been feeling like a wave is washing over you? The news is relentless and contains more and more touch points with our own lived experience. Even though astrology can give us some solace that this is part of an astrological timeline that includes but is also independent of human experience; it is imperative that we all work to move the current agitated expression of human existence towards a system that supports the beauty, life and relationship we have to each other and this planet.
We must prioritize a system that no longer idealizes an extractive imperialist capitalist class that has been killing some segment of us since the start of its parasitic existence. The work of Dolores Huerta’s United Farm Workers was one example of this and what is happening now is a direct result of the work being ongoing and difficult to extract from the very systems that oppress it. We will get into this later. This is one example of a larger context at play, the planetary energies are pushing us to evolve.

One of the entities hampering our evolvement is the US military which is the world’s number one polluter and one of the last vestiges that capitalist imperialism has at its disposal as it slowly dies. Nationalism has always been a tool of the imperialists to get the local population to do it’s bidding by making the “other” appear to be so different from us that we justify killing other human beings. Insert: Muslims, Jews, Hatians, Mexicans, Venezuelans…and the list goes on. It’s time that we understood this.
The work becomes less overwhelming when we realize there is a trans-national movement of subjugated humans, many of them workers like you and I, who have the same goal to be liberated from the oppression of the ruling class in their own countires and abroad. Now that we know this, pick a struggle and get to work.
Pluto in Aquarius is the backdrop for a lot of what is happening currently. It coencides with the birth of the United States and many other outer planets including Saturn and Neptune moving into signs and coordinates that they have not previously inhabited in our lifetimes and arguably, in human existence, such as Saturn and Neptune being at 0 degrees of Aries on February 22nd.
We don’t have a playbook for what is happening, and that is abundantly clear. As such, you can imagine that there are going to be all kinds of world leaders and despots who are looking to cement themselves as rulers in this new shift. It is our job as historically marginalized people who are a part of the global majority, to keep them from doing this. I know the task seems daunting but trust me, the more you interface with real humans and other living beings, the more your particular path in this struggle will become clear, and the more you will feel like you are making meaningful change.
This New Moon in Pisces forces us to connect with each other. The movement and innovation during this New Moon is supported by the arts since it is in Pisces. How can you use whatever artistic talents you possess to move a message forward?
I do believe that we are getting short gasps of air within the drowing process during this new moon largely because of the sextile between Venus in Aries and Uranus in Taurus. This is apparent as NATO allies grow some semblance of a spine and refuse to support the Trump administration’s war on Iran. Anyone with half a brain could have anticipatied the Iranian response beforehand.
Europe is very dependent on the oil coming up through the stright of Hormuz. Iran told the world that one of the only leverage points they had, because, contrary to whitehouse propaganda, they don’t have a nuclear weapon, is to close this strait. They are also threatening to shut down the strait of Bab-el Mandeb if aggressions continue. This forces 20% of the world’s oil to now have to traverse the whole African continent in order to reach Europe and the US. The big oil robber barons don’t really care that much because as the rest of us are affected at the pump and as our electrical bills rise, they experience record profits. Remember Trump is very supportive of oil conglomerates, many of whom financed his campaign.
The idiotic, suicidal, messianic war with Iran has also led to the US expending a huge percentage of it’s weapons to kill women and children. Lest us not forget that…

The only rogue nuclear actor in the Middle East currently is Israel. It is the only country there that has bombed 7 countries and continues to aggressively threaten its neighbors. Let me remind you that the GCC states have all been warned for decades that if they continued to build up US military bases in the area Iran would have no choice to defend itself. Even after all the buildup of these bases Iran showed incredible restraint. It was not until they were bombed twice that they decided to hit key oil and gas infrastructure in the region to try and defend themselves. This was only after the US was pushed by Israel to bomb a girls school as a first strike.
Now before you start believing some bullshit that there were secret terrorists operations happening at the school, I want to remind you that this is the same logic Israel used to wipe out all the hospitals in Gaza, rape a hospital director to death, systematically kill journalists and reporters all because they said there were “secret Hamas tunnels” under all these places. We are exchanging playbooks openly between the US and Israel at this point, and they are both banking on the stupidity of all of us to continue this repressive plan for world domination. If you think I’m exaggerating, listen to Mike Huckabeeour ambassador to Israel tell us in a recent interview that. Israel has a biblical right to take over much of the Middle East.
As a result of US stupidity, Cuba is afforded a minimal repreave as we expend our weapons in Iran. Trump is begging a non-existent manufacturing base to churn out more weapons that the US is currently incapable of making. To be clear, Cubans on the island are not banking on this reprieve alone. They are incredibly resourceful and are strategizing the best they can.
The Global Capitalist Class has always looked to Cuba as a thorn in it’s side. Cuba has continually demonstrated that the way to self-determination for marginalized countries has never been by indebting themselves to IMF and World Bank loans as many other countries have done. When these indebted countries are never able to pay back their loans, the capitalist class with the US at its helm, moves in to extract the resources of the indebted countries as collateral.
Cuba kicked out the mafioso sugar barons which were decimating its indigenous and African populations including trafficking the women and children of the region and were able to maintain a functioning and adaptable economy for decades after. They managed to survive off some subsidies from other socialist regimes, and when those fell, they turned to innovations in agriculture and medicine as well as tourism. This is why we have a had a travel ban for US citizens entering Cuba and why we bombed their hotels. Not to mention that the US tried to assasinate Castro over 80 times. Whatever you think of the man’s policies, he was able to provide for the working class population, many of them black and indigenous, for decades. This extended to supporting the black working class struggle in the United States by protecting black revolutionary women like Assat Shakur.
Cuban doctors are sought over world wide as some of the best trained. They often work in conflict zones for free or low cost. They also provided scholarships to black folks who were descendants of the trans Atlantic slave trade to learn and practice medicine when we were marginalized in the United States and elsewhere. If you don’t think this happned why do you think Marco Rubio is targeting Cuban doctors currently? He knows they provide an immense service to the world. For all of you who are like “but wait I have a Cuban friend in Miami who is in support of us taking over Cuba”. I need to remind you that expats from many countries who come here and experienced relative wealth in their home countires previously, like those from the repressive Bautista regime in Cuba, often do not represent the interests of the working class in their home countries. It’s like if we were able to kick out Trump and his regime and they fled to Germany where then they seethed for decades about wanting to come back here and take over again.
As a youth Marco Rubio was desperate to fit in here in the US and even tried to convince his family to convert to Mormonism at one point to do so. The man is not well.
So now on to what Venus is up to during this new moon in Pisces

I am sure many of you in activist/organizing/labor movements have heard the news regarding Dolores Huerta’s allegations that she and others were sexually assulted by socialist leader Cesar Chavez and kept quiet in order to support the movement.
These allegations came out just as Venus in Aries squared Jupiter in Cancer. Venus in Aries is a signature that encourages action from femmes and historically marginalized folks; while Jupiter in Cancer spreads deep care. A square represents a point of tension. Like things were humming along and then hit a right angle and needed to be reexamined.
It is unsurprising that another instance of deep community repair was initiated at this time. Remember these signatures often don’t resolve right when they hit, but the pattern draws our attention to something that is looking for resolve. Let’s see what Venus does next.
Huerta was largely responsible for the success of the United Farm Workers movement that was attributed to Cesar Chavez. Stories like these are rife within revolutionary spaces. There are also less egregious versions like the fact that, at its height, the Black Panther Party was 2/3 women led, and that the 65 social programs that supported the organization and its community were led by women.
Having a broad shouldered, heavily armed revolutionary as the image of a liberatory movement only helps the ruling class long term. This is because, it provides a narative for the capitalist class that we should fear these revolutionaries because they look scary which helps garner an equally militaristic, repressive response and fails to push forward the original aims of the movement. Though it is a great piece of propaganda for the short term, it often corrupts the individual who is the archetype at its center and does not age well. Power corrupts absolutely.
The real stories of incremental day to day struggle and success by marginalized folks like women, children, migrant workers, the disabled, and queer communities are lost, only to be replaced by a charismatic boogyman that the State can justify further oppression around.
Don’t forget this is a marathon and we need to prioritize joy in the struggle!
