Entering a New Cycle in Humanity on The Heels of a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius
Eclipses are moon transits and we are about to have our first solar eclipse of the year in the sign of Aquarius on the 17th of February.

Solar eclipses coincide with new moons which is when the moon is not visible in the sky. The sun and moon are right next to each other or what we call “conjunct” as opposed to a full moon when they are opposite each other in the sky so the sun’s light is reflected on the surface of the moon. During a solar eclipse or new moon, The night is dark, seeds are incubating with the swirling lunar energies.
The kick off for all this ridiculousness is the chaotic energy of the sun squared Uranus happening on Sunday the 15th. The connection with the eclipse is present because the Sun will be in Aquarius and this eclipse will be a solar eclipse in the sign of Aquarius.
The thing to keep in mind is that Uranus wants spontinaity from us. A square between planets often presents as a bit of a challenge or a roadblock on our paths just when we think things are starting to work out in any one direction, but if we keep in mind that Uranus is calling on us to find novel solutions to challenges, we can see our ways through this. If we fight the change the transit will more than likely force us to make the change regardless. So it behoves us to dive in and try something new. We will be rewarded for it. You might even find a new part of your identity and vitality for life that you hadn’t previously noticed.
Thankfully, right after this and before the elipse on the 17th, we have a Mercury trine Jupiter on Monday the 16th. Trines are easy transits. Often we don’t even feel them because they are just chill. This is a water trine between Mercury in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer so the emotions that cropped up the day before may be a bit more easily processed to flow through and out of the body with this trine. Try to sit with this energy the rest of the week and keep things low key since the eclipse and Saturn and Neptune meeting up in the sign of Aries at the anaretic degree of 0 for the first time in human existence, will all be giving you a run for your money.
Neptune in it’s not so shiny expression, complies in advance and believes whatever it feels drawn to regardless of the facts presented. It does not fact check. So at a time when we have Pluto in Aquarius which has coincided with the heavy adoption of AI and surveillance technologies, this can be a problem. The saving grace is that Saturn is the constant skeptic, always looking for proof and evidence. It is slow and methodical so the hope is that we have just enough faith but not so much that we forgo our critical thinking skills. Let’s see how this pans out. In the US context, blind faith in the pursuit of ethno-nationalism, in this case, white christian nationalism isn’t panning out real well for the majority of us so far.
The sign of Aquarius has us concerned with groups and so this tension and emotion that is comming up wants us to center solutions that are not only focused on ourselves and our own well being but that of the collective and the greater good. We will be pushed to do so, we already have been.
I am currently reading Bobby Seale’s book Seize the Time that details the 65 free social programs that were started by the Black Panther Party. Some of which the US Government adopted as a way to avoid civil unrest. The government did so then promptly killed 25 Panther leaders with no “Thank you for your service” and instead deeming them all to have been “domestic terrorists”. Sound familiar?
I provide this list as an inspiration of the radical love that we are all capable of in our communities. On the birthday of Fredrick Douglass which also happens to be Valentine’s Day, I hope this serves as inspiration:

Remember that unlike the energies of a new or a full moon, the energies of eclipses last about 6 months.
How can you build a stronger more healthy community that utilizes innovation and technology for the greater good? How can you find your unique place in the movement? These are the sustainable options for this solar eclipse in Aquarius. The tricky part of all this already intense lunar energy is that both Pluto and Mars will also be in Aquarius.
Pluto is a transformative planet which requires metamorphosis from us, and because it is in the sign of Aquarius, there is no way this metamorphosis won’t be about a collective metamorphosis. What kind of new culture are we birthing? Birth is always messy and often painful. What makes us think that the death of the old world order (no conspiracy intended) to bring about something new would be any different?
It takes Pluto 250 years to come back to the same sign. This is longer than any of us on earth have been alive. We don’t have a lived experience of this. We do know, however, that it was also the time of great conflict and subjugation on the US continent. In fact, it coincides with the birth of the United States itself! Are we surprised that the current energies are as intense as they are?
So now you know. No need to add ritual or further agitation or intensity to these times. Most of the time this will be unavoidable in some capacity and the work is always to try and find balance but not appeasement. Agitation must happen to create something better than were we came from, but we can be strategic about it. We can love one another through it. Focus on that.
My new album Sabina Olamina 1. …
will be available to stream on March 5th everywhere you stream music except Spotify because, as you know if you’ve been here for awhile, that platform supports AI weapons technology and refuses to take down ICE recruitment adds. If you all want to get only the music updates, feel free to subscribe to my Bandcamp page. That is also where you can download my music for $1 or more and 80% of the proceeds go directly to me, unlike the proceeds from the streaming platforms which take 70% or more from us artists.
