AI and Dark Tech Comes Into Focus on This Otherwise Chill Gemini New Moon. Gemini likes to move fast and break things but it also likes to have fun
Cool cool cool cool cool. That’s how I’d talk if I was this new moon in Gemini, but I lived in the shadowy 12th house of hidden things, frenemies, and jealousy, which is where the moon was in the sky when this humble astrologer was born.
Pre new moon in Gemini waves
On the one hand, it’s a surprisingly chill new moon in an otherwise insane astrological and IRL year, and on the other hand…I don’t trust it. Are we surprised?! I mean I am me after all, and often see things that people do not until it’s too late. However, I’m willing to follow the thought experiment that everything will be fine and we can relax a little. Insert awkwardly grinning emoji.
The thing that gives me pause is that a couple days before, on the 12th, we have Venus squaring Chiron:
Don’t get caught up in people or situations that trigger your self worth. Especially if you find yourself revisiting childhood traumas because of it.
Not a good time for retail therapy. Trust me, that fancy ass pair of shoes will NOT make you feel any better.
The saving grace is the neutrality of the Gemini new moon and that the following day’s Venus sextile Uranus on the 15th will both help us even out a little. You may even have some chance flirtations in a platonic or romantic way. Nothing major, but be on the lookout for some cute spontaneity.
We also have the planet Venus moving into the sign of Leo on the 13th. This is where Venus gets really flashy. You may find yourself wanting to be a little more decadent in your attire and it’s a good setup going into the new moon.

I just finished a class I have to take every couple years on neonatal resuscitation aka how to keep a baby that has just been born alive if it is trying to check out, which, to be honest, I can’t blame them and often feel sad that we don’t just let them go back to their happy place because what is this world right now!?
I’m realizing that part of the manifestation of Uranus moving into Gemini is that things are done fast and dirty and without a lot of thought.
Me and 4 other healthcare providers from 4 different institutions all spent a large part of the class complaining about how, we have been noticing that our equipment in the hospital is getting more and more flimsy. So I guess the hospitals and hospital equipment companies are looking at fast and dirty cost saving opportunities.
Examples were, syringes with holes in them, gloves that break immediately when you put them on, faulty IV catheters, new cheap pumps that are accidentally pumping air into patients vessels if you don’t watch them like a hawk.
All these “cost saving measures” have real life consequences up to and including death. The problem is, that the source of these problems is never traced back to its source, the corporate board rooms, and governments that have been bought by corporate power. They throw medical professionals under the bus, patients die, and the cost saving that they talk about only gives bonuses to the c-suite executives and billionaires in the form of $200,000+ bonuses for doing a shitty job.
Dark Tech or as Elon likes to say “Dark Woke” is also getting a boost
unfortunately, around this new moon as the north node squares Uranus. So think before adopting any new tech in the age of Pluto in Aquarius: Only Fans, Partiful, Facebook, IG, Meta Glasses. All that stuff sucks up everything about us, making us easier to control and manipulate. Not to mention that the CEO of Only Fans is one of the main contributors to AIPAC and the IDF.
It doesn’t have to be existential though. Just stop and think before adopting a new technology and especially AI. Apparently some of the worst culprits with AI are the personal assistant type ones.
Like the comedian Ronny Chieng said in his recent Harvard commencement speech
Creating is the fun part…why would I want AI to take that away from me?!…The journey isn’t just how we acquire skills, the journey is the point of all this!…whatever your chosen profession is, please don’t let AI rob you of the fun part of it. I don’t think your generations battle will be humans against AI. It’s guna be: people with substance vs people with shallow knowledge, it’s guna be mastery vs faking it, it’s guna be people with good taste vs tacky…Make sure your offline life is better then your online one.
Another take I rather appreciate is this one by astrologer Chani Nicholas when she was asked how she felt about people using AI to deliniate their astrological charts. She summarized her internal conflict quite well here:
I loathe AI, I hate AI. I think AI is quite possibly going to be the downfall of our civilization…I have a tech company…I have an astrology ap that is fully run by human beings. We have human beings that design it, we have human beings that code it, we have human beings that write every single word in every single part of the ap. and on our website, we have human beings, me, that do these recordings, human beings that edit, human beings that do everything. We believe in human beings. We do not think that machines can tell you about you souls purpose which is the art…of what astrology is.
And also, as we know, AI robs, steals all of our work! So if AI is going to tell you something about astrology that is legitimate, it’s because they’ve ripped it off from us, the humans that have painstakingly took time to understand what this ancient system is and is not, and how to work with it and how to us it.
Not only that, but AI is an environmental catastrophe and crisis of epic proportions. It disproportionately impacts black and brown…and intentionally impoverished communities the world over. Data centers are a nightmare, a devastation. Water pollution, water theft, energy crisis, light pollution, sound pollution, you name it.
So even if it didn’t make our brains smooth, which it does, AI is proven to make us dumber. Even if it didn’t do things like encourage people to do horrific things to themselves and their communities, which it does. Even if AI didn’t have hallucinations, which it does all the time. So if you put your data into the machine,…you’re giving it data, because ultimately I think AI is a cop; I think it is a tool of the military industrial complex that is coming for us in some gruesome and horrific ways we could never imagine…But even if that wasn’t true…it will hallucinate and give you wrong information that it stole from me and all my colleagues and textbooks…and then every once in awhile fully hallucinates and tells you the exact wrong thing .
most likely she left out “from synthesizing all of that information incorrectly”.
Now I want to say, I understand wanting to use it…that it’s so alluring, that this machine can just give me the answers that I needed super quickly and I wouldn’t have to do any of the research myself. And I get not having the money to pay an astrologer.
I will interject here by stating that by using AI you are paying someone. That someone is people who are tasked with the destruction of the vast majority of us for their own personal gain. Like my father always said “Nothing is free.”
…Also I want you to know that the information you need is out there…created by a human being, an astrologer somewhere. If you can search for things on AI, you can search for the exact same answers that would be given to you by a human
…I feel like it is a death machine, I feel like it is a tool of white supremacy. I think it has been modeled after a white supremacist colonizer kind of thinking process and brain. I think it is disproportionately sexist, racist, xenophobic.
One look no further than Elon musk dialing down the “Nazi level” on Grok when it started to go a littler further with its responses that he had prompted to be right wing, than even he could stomach.
…and I think it is a tool for settler colonialist white supremacist capitalist patriarchy. And that it will take everything it can from all of us. Including our water, and our land, and our life. And I don’t think that is worth looking up our astrology chart, even though I understand doing so. It’s not your fault…it’s their fault, it’s the creators of these machines and monstrous companies that want to take everything from us including our lives just to get…more powerful. And so it our responsibility to fight it every step of the way.
As Uranus moved from Taurus into Gemini in April it passed through its anaretic degree.
These are the degrees at the beginning and end of a zodiacal sign and they are very potent.
When Uranus is in Taurus we often see unexpected or quick changes in the systems that sustain and nourish us. The land itself for instance. Think farming, practices, droughts, famines, food systems etc.
If you haven’t heard, there has been a severe disruption in our food supply recently from both the lack of nitrogen available to farmers as a result of the Iran War and the screw worm infestation affecting cattle. Whatever your political persuasions are, these two things were a direct result of the Trump regimes negligence, greed, and psychopathy.
The Iran War part of it is obvious. Much of the worlds nitrogen comes from Iran and this is a crucial component in fertilizer.
The screw worm is something you may not readily see the connection to, but it is also clear. The administration cut funding for programs they thought were frivolous, like tracking the mating habits of flies in the Southern hemisphere. Instead of leading with curiosity and knowing they were not experts, they led with the narcissim we have all grown to know and “love” 🙄 from the Trump administration. What they failed to realize was that those flies they thought were unimportant were the ones that laid the eggs inside cattle’s bodies and killed them…aka screw worm 😒😒🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️.
I really think these people believe AI will fix everything. Fortunately, no one else is buying it, and we all know that we are having this shit shoved down our throats because it’s the only way all of these billionaires can get any kind if return on investment (ROI).
In other fun news SpaceX goes public on the same day that we have some bonkers astrology in the same place (same sign) as the Gemini New Moon so that’s comforting…gulp. I wrote more one that here if you’re interested. Basically, it has huge implications for anyone who has a 401K or any investment in the stock market. Trust me, you should be looking into this.
